About Andy

Andy Bliss is a drummer/percussionist, composer, and creative technologist whose work merges acoustic performance with digital sound design and visual media.

He serves as Director of Percussion Studies at the University of Tennessee College of Music and co-founded Nief-Norf, a contemporary music organization dedicated to adventurous, collaborative creation.

His current solo project, Glitch, explores rhythm and technology through a new hybrid drumming language that blends performance, composition, and design.

What I’m Building

I’m developing a connected platform that bridges performance, technology, and education — a knowledge company built to serve creative people at every level of engagement.

At its foundation are Trail Guides, Field Guides, and Creative Pulse Labs — resources, courses, and live experiences that help drummers, musicians, and creative professionals stay inspired and work more effectively.

Each project ties into my larger vision: empowering people to make meaningful work by understanding rhythm, systems, and sound — principles that extend far beyond percussion.

This entire ecosystem will converge in glitch, my 2026 sabbatical project: a hybrid percussion and electronic performance that embodies these ideas in action.
