I'm a drummer. That's the center of everything — but over two decades it's grown into something bigger: performing, teaching, building ensembles and festivals, and helping other musicians make meaningful work and build a creative life that supports it.

I'm Director of Percussion Studies at the University of Tennessee and was the founding Artistic Director of Nief-Norf from 2005-2025. As a performer I move between solo and keyboard recitals, chamber work, and large-scale sound — John Luther Adams' Four Thousand Holes and Become Ocean at Big Ears, Bryce Dessner's Triptych with Roomful of Teeth, work alongside the Kronos Quartet, So Percussion, and the Knoxville Symphony. Those credits matter to me mostly for what they taught me: how creative work actually gets made, and how easily good musicians get stuck without the systems to sustain it.

Performing is the heart of it — and around that, I help musicians and creators turn real artistic ambition into a practice they can keep, through teaching, coaching, cohorts, and digital resources. The goal was never productivity for its own sake. It's creating the conditions for your best work.
