The Danish premiere of John Luther Adams’ Ilimaq, on a solo concert at the Percussion Perspectives Plus Festival in Aarhus, alongside a masterclass, a panel discussion, and a workshop.

Ilimaq is an Inuit word for the journey a shaman’s spirit takes. Adams wrote it for solo percussion and electronics, and it is closer to weather than to a piece with movements. It is the most demanding solo in my repertoire and the one I have spent the longest with.
